American Beef in Nowruz celebration in Tashkent City Park, Uzbekistan

As part of the Novruz celebrations in Tashkent, Uzbekistan's largest city and the country's capital, USMEF, jointly Brown, a distributor of DeLonghi/Kenwood/Brown household appliances and grills, and Mix-Box food service company, promoted alternative cuts of American beef cooked on Brown grills and served in the style of Korean street food.

During the four days of Nowruz celebrations – March 21-24, workshops on grilled American beef were held in one of the most beautiful parks in the city – Tashkent City Park.

Chef Vlad from the Mix-Box restaurant shared the secrets of proper cooking of Top Blade, Skirt, Top Sirloin Cap steaks and burgers made from chopped American beef in household grills. 

He spoke about the proper doneness levels, proper handling, storage and cutting of steaks, temperature control and recalled the mandatory "rest" of various steaks and burgers. Chef Vlad demonstrated the serving in Korean bao buns and sandwiches options with three types of salads and a special sauce.

American beef secondary cuts workshops and tastings were conducted twice a day under due consideration of the interests of people fasting in Ramadan and start eating after sundown.
