Ukraine has increased the export of live cattle

Ukrainian live cattle exports for 8 months increased by 21.4%.

In January-August 2023, Ukraine exported 13.6 thousand tons of live cattle, which is 21.4% more than in the same period last year.

This is evidenced by the data of the State Customs Service. Although in monetary terms, the export of live cattle in eight months reached $21.8 million, this is 0.5% more than in the same period of 2022.

Lebanon (55.3%), Egypt (31.2%), Jordan (10.4%) bought the most domestic live cattle during the eight months of this year.

Imports of live cattle in January-August 2023 amounted to 268 tons, which is 62.6% less than in the same period last year. Ukrainian farmers spent $1.4 million on the purchase of live cattle abroad, which is 54.8% less than in the eight months of 2022.

Live cattle in January-August 2023 were imported more from Denmark (79.1%), Poland (19.8%) and Lithuania (1.1%).
