In Tashkent, sellers evade the decree on reducing of meat cost

Meat sellers in Tashkent reduced the cost of the goods but are forced to sell it with a make-weight of fat and bones, reports the publication "Gazeta.uz."

It is noted that expensive domestic meat in Tashkent has disappeared from the shelves, and the cost of one kilo does not exceed 60 thousand UZS ($5.8). According to one of the sellers, the given situation has developed in connection with the release of the decree of the Uzbekistan President Mirziyoyev.

In Tashkent, sellers evade the decree on reducing of meat cost

The document limits the cost of one kilogram of meat. However, sellers are forced to sell goods with a makeweight, since the wholesale value of meat exceeds the established maximum amount.

Sellers note that the requirement to reduce the cost of meat to 60 thousand UZS ($5.8) per kilo is unreasonable, since the market cost of a 100-kilogram bull in live weight is at least 7 million UZS ($676).

It's pointed out that a meeting on ensuring food security was held on October 16. Heads of Uzbekistan regions, cities and districts have been put in charge to report to Uzbekistan people on prices and conditions in markets.

Recall that according to the January-September 2020 results, food products prices in Uzbekistan, according to the state stat committee, grew by 7.5%.
