South America Will Account For 50% Of Global Beef Exports In Five Years

According to Fernando Queiroz, CEO of Minerva beef production company, in five years South America will account for 50% of global beef exports, compared with 40% currently.

Minerva Company, which bought plants from competitor Marfrig this year to increase its presence in South American countries, believes that cattle processing is a competitive advantage for its own plants operating on the South American continent.

South America also boasts lower labor costs compared to countries like the United States, Queiroz said. 

"We have the best global platform for reducing risks," Queiroz said, referring to the current low cattle availability in the United States, that affects competing companies.
