llegally imported beef reclaimed in Smolensk region

Earlier, the employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia in the Smolensk region suspended the movement of two minibuses driven by citizens of the Republic of Belarus, in which beef was transported in gross violation of veterinary requirements.

To carry out control, these cargoes within the framework of interdepartmental interaction were delivered to the Krasnaya Gorka PPU and provided to the specialists of the Rosselkhoznadzor Administration for the Bryansk, Smolensk and Kaluga regions.

As a result of the inspection, the inspectors of the Rosselkhoznadzor Office found that meat with a total weight of about 4 tons was transported bypassing official veterinary posts without any veterinary and other accompanying documents confirming its origin, quality, safety and epizootic well-being.

In addition, there were also no signs confirming the veterinary and sanitary examination, and the transportation was carried out in bulk, in unsanitary conditions, together with foreign objects, in vehicles not intended for the transportation of food products.

In order to exclude the presence of pathogens of especially dangerous animal diseases in the meat, samples were taken from it and sent for research to the Bryansk interregional veterinary laboratory subordinate to the Rosselkhoznadzor.

After completing the necessary verification measures and obtaining negative results of examinations, beef of unknown origin, quality and safety was disposed of in accordance with the procedure established by veterinary legislation. The carriers were brought to administrative responsibility by the Rosselkhoznadzor Department.
