Kyrgyzstan faces meat shortage; the government wants to introduce a ban on livestock exports

As the Minister of Agriculture of Kyrgyzstan Tilek Toktogaziev explained, a sharp reduction in the breeding stock was the reason why it is proposed to introduce a ban on livestock exports.

"If a ban is not introduced, Kyrgyzstan may face problems with meat production this year and in subsequent years - since there will be no one to bear bovine offspring. Therefore, preserving the mother stock is a strategically important task for the state, "said the Minister of Agriculture.
