Epizootic situation on especially dangerous animal diseases in the world from October 17 through 23, 2020

The OIE was notified of the emergence of 63 outbreaks of especially dangerous diseases from 12 countries.

For the period from October 17 through 23, 2020, Croatia (4 centers) reported to the World Organization for Animal Health (OIE)on the registration of a bluetongue outbreak, where the disease has not been detected since 2017.

Five European countries reported new cases of African Swine Fever disease: Hungary (13 outbreaks), Germany (2), Latvia (2), Romania (32) and Ukraine (1). Classical Swine Fever is noted in Brazil (1).

The highly pathogenic influenza of birds was reported by official sources of Israel (2). The infection is recorded at a poultry farm and a waterfowl in the National Park. Coronavirus infection of COVID-19 continues to be recorded in the number of American chickens on US beast farms (1). New outbreaks of the Rift Valley fever were reported by Senegal (1) and Mauritania (2). Cases of the West Nile fever (1) and bluetongue (1) have been recorded in Bulgaria.
