Belarus, Uzbekistan to establish joint breeding and genetic center

BelTA informed of a project on establishment of a breeding and genetic center with Belarus in Uzbekistan and discovered details learned from Leonid Marinich, the Belarus Ambassador to Uzbekistan.

The Ambassador noted that animal husbandry for Uzbekistan is a key industry:

Significant financial resources have been invested in the industry, systematic state support has been provided, with attraction of foreign investments. About 90 percent of cattle are raised in personal subsidiary farms. The creation of a joint breeding and genetic center in Uzbekistan is an opportunity to strengthen cooperation between the two countries in pedigree livestock farming. This center will make it possible not only to simplify the process of purchasing of the Belarus selected cattle, but also to introduce Belarusian technologies for insemination and livestock management, to expand the supply of pedigree genetic products and to increase the productivity of livestock in farming. Work has already been underway.

Joint breeding and genetic center will be created by Belarus and UzbekistanBy the way, Uzbekistan is buying pedigree cattle abroad in significant volumes. Last year Belarus supplied 211 head of cattle valued at $372.4 thousand. According to the head of the diplomatic mission, these figures are not pleasing. At the same time, he noted that Belarus is ready to share with Uzbekistan the experience of creating and functioning large-scale production and processing of plant raising and animal husbandry products:

It is important to provide the partner with the full range of goods and services. For example, when creating a dairy complex, the joint production of the essential equipment and its supply should be organized, design and construction services, the formation of the main herd, training and training of personnel, scientific and technological support should be provided. Precisely this integrated approach should become the basis for the implementation of joint projects in the agro-industrial complex of our countries.
