Turkey’s red meat production rises by 9.3 in 2021

Total red meat production increased by 9.3% to 1,952,380 tons in 2021 as the Turkish Statistical Institute reported.

Accordingly, the total production of red meat, which in 2020 was 1 million 785 thousand 952 tons, increased by 9.3% in 2021 and is estimated at 1 million 952 thousand 38 tons. Compared to the previous year, the production of cattle meat increased by 8.9% and amounted to 1 million 460 thousand 719 tons, the production of mutton increased by 11.7% and amounted to 385 thousand 933 tons, the production of goat meat increased by 4.5% and amounted to 94 tons. 555 tons, and the production of buffalo meat increased by 28.6% and amounted to 10,831 tons. Looking at the production of red meat over the past ten years, total production of red meat, which in 2012 was 1 million 67 thousand 553 tons, in 2021 was 1 million 952 thousand 38 tons.

The total production of red meat, which was estimated at 1,952,038 tons in 2021, consisted of 74.8% bovine meat, 19.8% mutton, 4.8% goat meat and 0.6% buffalo meat.
