Uzbekistan opens doors to US meat and poultry exports
Uzbekistan and the United States have mutually agreed to allow US federally authorized meat and poultry establishments to begin exporting their products to Uzbekistan starting June 1, 2024, the office of the United States Trade Representative reported.

Ambassador Tai commended Uzbekistan's efforts to enhance its trade environment and expressed support for US legislative initiatives aimed at revitalizing the Generalized System of Preferences (GSP) program.
Both parties stressed the importance of ongoing reforms in Uzbekistan, particularly in the context of labor rights and the termination of the Jackson-Vanik amendment, demonstrating a shared dedication to advancing economic freedoms and international trade norms.
Highlighting Uzbekistan's steadfast pursuit of WTO accession, Ambassador Tai reiterated the United States' unwavering support for Uzbekistan's integration into the global trade framework. Significant progress was noted in bilateral market access negotiations, with a mutual commitment to expedite these discussions and align Uzbekistan's trade policies with WTO standards, including trade facilitation measures.
