USMEF, along with over 175 agricultural and business organizations, has urged the White House to engage with the International Longshoremen’s Association (ILA) and the U.S. Maritime Alliance (USMX) to resume contract negotiations and prevent a strike that could severely impact trade. Keeping East and Gulf Coast ports open is crucial to maintaining the flow of cargo. A significant portion of U.S. red meat exports relies on these ports.
