The number of cattle in Ukraine fell to 3 million heads

In Ukraine, as of November 1, 2021, the number of cattle, poultry, sheep, and goats, as well as pigs, continues to decline. This is evidenced by the data of the State Statistics Service. So, as of the reporting date, the number of cattle amounted to 3.03 million heads, which is 6.7% less than on the same date a year earlier.

The number of cattle in Ukraine fell to 3 million heads

A decrease in the number of cattle was recorded both in agricultural enterprises by 1.1% – up to 997 thousand heads, and in households – by 9.2%, up to 2.04 million heads. It is specified that there are 1.63 million cows in the country as of October 1 (-6.1%).

At the same time, the number of pigs for the year decreased by 3.2% – to 5.98 million heads. The growth of industrial livestock was 1.3% – up to 3.7 million heads, however, the decline in households reached 9.5% (up to 2.3 million heads). In addition, according to the State Statistics Service the number of sheep and goats in Ukraine at the beginning of this month decreased by 5.5% – to 1.25 million heads.
