The Ministry of Agriculture announced new data on the production of meat, milk, poultry and livestock

As of January 1, 2024, the number of cattle, considering agricultural enterprises, decreased by almost 2 million heads, milk production - by 3 million tons, the number of sheep – by 14%, goats – by 20%, pigs – by 34%, poultry – by 22%, meat production in live weight – by 15%, chicken eggs – by 10%," the department reported. They noted that the distortion of industry statistics is one of the systemic problems in agriculture.

The reason is that the data is generated based on household accounting, which is carried out by the akims of towns, villages and rural districts.

Incorrect initial data can lead to serious problems such as a lack of products on the market, overproduction, insufficient support from the state and other negative consequences," the ministry noted.

Today, the agency has updated statistical data in the livestock industry and hopes that this will help improve the quality of planning and decision-making on regulating the domestic market.

Similar work is being carried out in crop production, and it is planned to complete it by August 2024.
