Kyrgyzstan produced 230,000 tons of meat since the beginning of 2024, Agriculture Ministry's food security department chief Daniyar Januzakov said.

According to him Kyrgyzstan provided 79% of the population's meat needs.

This is 1.4% more compared to the same period last year. The main demand in the country is 290 thousand tons of meat per year.

"The demand for beef, mutton, horse meat and pork are fully met, but poultry meat has to be imported – about 50 thousand tons annually," Zhanuzakov said.
