Kazakhstan imported 266 thousand tons of meat
Kazakhstan depends on imports of meat and meat products. Dependence on it does not disappear, although unprecedented measures have been taken. Both livestock breeders and poultry breeders are in priority when state support is distributed in the state, KazakhZerno.kz reports.
According to the data of 2021, Kazakhstan exported 36.2 thousand tons of meat and meat products worth $83.1 million abroad. At the same time, other exporters imported 266 thousand tons of these products worth $411.5 million into the country.

What types of meat and how much did Kazakhstan buy from other countries? The first place is poultry meat (168.5 thousand tons; $167.3 million), the second is beef (20 thousand tons; $37 million), and the third is pork (6.5 thousand tons; $15 .8 million). The country also bought 2.4 thousand tons of horse meat ($5.3 million), 46.9 thousand tons of sausages ($109.379 million), 18.5 tons of canned meat ($39.5 million).
At the end of last year, the Republic of Kazakhstan supplied to the foreign market 24.3 thousand tons of poultry meat ($38.4 million), 7.1 thousand tons of beef ($31 million), more than 1.2 thousand tons of lamb ($7.461 million) and 405 tons of pork ($775 thousand).
