Kazakh agricultural producers are ready to supply up to 30 thousand tons of beef and lamb to Iraq

According to Vice-Minister RK, Kazakh agricultural producers are ready to supply Iraq with up to 30 thousand tons of Kazakh beef and mutton, as well as to provide breeding material to improve pedigree and productive qualities of cattle. In particular, we are talking about intensifying supplies of grain, flour and meat. This was discussed on 12 September at a meeting of Vice-Minister of Agriculture Ermek Kenzhekhanuly with the Charge d'Affaires of the Republic of Iraq in the Republic of Kazakhstan Jaber Najma Adbullah al-Temimi.

"We are ready to strengthen bilateral ties, develop trade, intensify supplies of grain, rice, flour, as well as livestock products. The list of exported items can be expanded, and the volume of supplies increased," the vice minister emphasised. In turn, Jaber Najma Adbullah al-Temimi proposed to develop relations in a number of areas: in matters of land reclamation, agricultural technology, livestock industry.

Vice-Minister noted that in 2023 trade turnover of agricultural products between the Republic of Kazakhstan and Iraq amounted to $1 million, and for January-July 2024 - 672 thousand dollars. Exports from the Republic of Kazakhstan to Iraq for January-July 2024 exceeded 640 thousand dollars. Onions, rice, flour, fat of cattle and beef cattle are mainly exported to Iraq.
