Iran to build slaughterhouses in Astrakhan region
This decision was made in order to carry out a full cycle of meat production for subsequent export to Iran. In addition to this step, investments in the cultivation of forage grasses, fodder production and livestock breeding are being considered.

In 2021, products such as grain, lamb, fat and oils, both vegetable and animal, were exported to Iran through the Astrakhan region. This year the list has grown: fruits, vegetables and canned food have been added to it. Iran also imports fresh fruits and vegetables to Russia.
150 enterprises in the Astrakhan region attract capital from the Islamic Republic. The main activities are wholesale trade, logistics and storage of goods. Agricultural projects have been previously discussed, but so far none of them have been implemented.
