Import of meat to Kazakhstan exceeds export by more than five times

The export of the meat from Kazakhstan in January-August 2022 amounted to 27.1 thousand tons in the amount of more than $91 million. Imports for the reporting period amounted to 138.1 thousand tons for $259.8 million. Thus, the physical volume of imports exceeds exports by more than five times.
Poultry meat occupies the largest share in the volume and value of imports. At the same time, chilled cattle meat is the leader in exports.
Earlier, LS reported that since the beginning of the year this product has risen in price by 13.7%, and over the year – by 15.1%, while its consumption has decreased by 6%.
