After a two-year ban, Kazakhstan resumed beef exports to China
Temporary restrictions on the import of meat due to foot-and-mouth disease were introduced in 2022 and lifted on February 7, 2024.

Its meat processing capacity is 200 heads of cattle in 10 hours and 1 thousand heads of small cattle
The Kazakh enterprise Meat Processing and Service LLP, for the first time after the lifting of restrictions on foot-and-mouth disease in 2024 by the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Kazakhstan, exported 20 tons of beef to China.
The company has been operating in the Almaty region since 2009. Its meat processing capacity is 200 heads of cattle in 10 hours and 1 thousand heads of small cattle, as Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Kazakhstan reports.
Wholesale meat trade with Iran, Oman, and Bahrain has been established.
The decision to lift the bans was made after the official visit of Kassym-Jomart Tokayev to China in 2023, during which the head of state noted Kazakhstan's readiness to supply livestock products to China.
