The country with the cheapest beef in the world has been determined

In 2017, global beef production amounted to 61.6 million tons, and the United States became the largest producer country of this type of meat. Next comes Brazil and the EU.

The largest increase in beef production was noted in Turkey, which was primarily associated with the implementation of a program to support producers in this country.

According to the agency, China became the largest global importer of frozen beef in 2018, followed by Vietnam and the United States. Export leaders were Brazil, India and Australia.

The most chilled beef in 2018 was purchased by the USA, the Netherlands and Italy. And the leading exporters are the United States, the Netherlands and Australia.

The European Union, along with the United States, Brazil and Argentina, is the largest beef producer in the world. In recent years, beef production has grown most in Poland and Spain, as well as Romania and Ireland. In Italy and Denmark, beef production declined. This is due to the results of the implementation of the EU agricultural policy, which provides for a reorientation to milk production.

In the coming years, IMIT experts forecast a slight decrease in beef production in the EU.

The largest producers of this meat in the European block will remain such countries as France, Germany, Italy and the UK (before leaving the EU).

According to the report, in 2019, Switzerland became the country with the most expensive beef in the world. Here, its retail price was 45.61 euros per kilogram. The list of countries with the cheapest beef was topped by Venezuela, where this meat is sold at a price of 2.5 euros per kilogram.
