Beyond Meat starts selling plant-based meat in Russia
From November 5 in Russian stores there will appear plant-based meat produced by the American company Beyond Meat, the Vedomosti reports.
According to the publication, the products will be presented in 29 shops in Moscow.
The company produces plant-based meat from pea protein, water, rapeseed oil.
It is emphasized that real meat from the USA is not supplied to Russia now due to sanctions.
Beyond Meat was established in 2009 by Ethan Brown. The company’s investors are Microsoft founder Bill Gates, actor Leonardo DiCaprio, ex-CEO of McDonald 's Don Thompson. In 2019, the company conducted an IPO and raised $240 million.
