A joint inspection of the veterinary services of Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan reaffirmed the right of 22 enterprises from 6 regions of the Republic of Kazakhstan to export animal products to Uzbekistan, the press service of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Kazakhstan reports.

The total capacity of the inspected livestock and meat processing enterprises amounts to 150,639 cattle, 7,685 small cattle, 5,381 horses and camels.

Thus, 55 Kazakhstani enterprises are ready to export to Uzbekistan 32.7 thousand tons of “red” meat (including live cattle in terms of slaughter weight), as well as 500 tons of poultry products.

Most importantly, the veterinary services of Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan have agreed that in the future Kazakhstani enterprises will be included in this list under the guarantee of the veterinary service of Kazakhstan.

Reference: last year, Kazakhstan exported 3.95 million tons (27% more than in 2017) of agricultural products in the amount of 634 million US dollars (34.5% more than in 2017) to Uzbekistan.

In 2018, compared with 2017, the export of livestock products to Uzbekistan increased almost 20 times (19.6).

Exports of Kazakhstani livestock products to priority markets increased 2.2 times in monetary terms, namely, due to an increase in exports of beef and mutton by 4.5 times. Thus, the export of meat of all kinds amounted to 33 thousand tons.

The volume of beef exports amounted to 19.95 thousand tons on the basis of issued veterinary certificates (for comparison, 5.5 thousand tons in 2017), mutton - 3.8 thousand tons (for comparison, 1.3 thousand tons in 2017).

It is important that exporting enterprises work in anchor cooperation with small and medium-sized farms in the region, which allows more than 19,000 farms involved in the meat livestock program to gain access to foreign markets.
